If you are offering a UV tanning service in the salon it is best practice to adhere to the National Occupational Standards set by Habia. This incorporates guidance on all areas from consultation with the client to practical advice regarding the equipment and client records. Habia has recently revised the NOS standards, which are available to view via here.

Under 18's are now banned from using any UV tanning equipment. Habia have supported this move and offer advice and guidance to salons regarding the legislation and running your business. Many salons offer safer, alternative services such as fake tanning and discuss this option with their clients during the consultation.
