Habia Skills Academy launches courses for hair extensions

Posted: Friday 27 July 2012

The Habia Skills Academy (HSA) is launching high level courses for hair extensions this summer as part of its ongoing intensive educator training programme.

Held over four days starting on 1 July 2012, Level 3 Hair Extensions will cover the expert knowledge required for those looking to teach advanced hair extension skills to others.

Open to current or potential educators with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 Hairdressing or at least five years industry experience, the course will be delivered by award winning hair extensions expert Michelle Griffin, who has worked with some of the top names and has designed this training course.

The course is being sponsored by Balmain Hair, who have provided all hair extensions and kit and will be contributing special guest educators. Balmain's involvement over three years will allow the HSA to organise further Level 3 Hair Extensions courses.

The first course takes place at Michelle Griffin Academy Ltd in Birmingham, on the following dates:

  • 1 July 2012
  • 2 July 2012
  • 3 July 2012
  • 5 August 2012
Those who complete the course will receive a nationally recognised Level 3 Certificate in Hair Extension Services from HSA founder sponsor VTCT.

Course fees are £200 per day.

  • 29 July 2012
  • 30 July 2012
  • 31 July 2012
  • 2 September 2012
Michelle Griffin said, "Level 3 Hair Extensions is taught at a creative level in tune with up and coming trends in the hair industry, and will give those people who are already educators in this field, or aspire to be, the necessary skills to train and educate others, particularly in areas such as pre-bonded and micro-ring hair extension systems. Hair extensions are much in demand from clients which means salons are crying out for hairdressers with the skills - and the proper qualifications - to deliver these services correctly and safely."

Dawn Reilly, Marketing Director at Balmain Hair, said, "Balmain Hair is truly honoured and excited to be in partnership with the HSA with this new initiative. We believe that delivering quality education which helps raise the standards and the profile of extensions in our industry is of supreme importance. This initiative will be a fantastic vehicle for achieving this and Balmain Hair is looking forward to working with Michelle and the HSA team."
