The Habia Skills Academy (HSA) is launching high level courses for laser and light hair removal this summer as part of its ongoing intensive educator training programme.
Held on four days starting on 25 June, Level 4 Laser/Light Hair Removal
will provide existing operators and trainers with access to some of the most up to date and advanced laser/light equipment combined with training from some of the most experienced educators in the industry.
Open to qualified or experienced teachers and assessors, as well as manufacturer trainers and demonstrators, the course will be delivered by industry experts Barbara Green and Gill Herrick.
Barbara has 31 years' experience in the beauty industry, covering various positions from beauty therapist and electrologist to salon manager and spa director. One of the few therapist to have studied the BTEC Advanced Award for Laser, Light and Associated Aesthetic Therapies, Barbara has been involved in external verification for a number of awarding bodies and been a National Verifier for CIBTAC.
Gill has been involved in the beauty industry since 1995, and has experience in a variety of skin treatments, laser/IPL, electrolysis and advanced electrolysis at all levels. She has delivered training for manufacturers, written courses for an awarding organisation and lectured at the London College of Fashion.
Course sponsors are Lynton Lasers and Polaris, who are providing laser machines.
The course takes place at The Spa Henley-in-Arden, near Stratford-upon-Avon, on the following dates:
- 25 June 2012
- 26 June 2012
- 6 August 2012
- 7 August 2012
Those who complete the courses will receive a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification from HSA founder sponsor VTCT.
Fees are £200 per day.
A second course programme, also at The Spa Henley-in-Arden, begins in September on the following dates:
- 10 September 2012
- 11 September 2012
- 22 October 2012
- 23 October 2012
Barbara Green and Gill Herrick said, "This course is the perfect course for any educator involved in or thinking of moving into Laser and/or IPL training, and an opportunity that should not be missed. The new qualification in laser and light systems require educators to be knowledgeable and up to date. This HSA course achieves just this as it revisits the basic principles as well as looking at the treatments from a training perspective.
Given the lack of teaching qualifications for laser and light systems within the UK, it also delivers a much needed and recognised one. Delegates are able to work with a variety of equipment plus they are fast tracked through the new Level 4 qualification.
We are thrilled to be a part of this major advance in Laser and IPL training as educated trainers automatically raise the standard of these treatments in our industry."
