Principal Learning in Hair and Beauty Studies within the Welsh Baccalaureate

Principal Learning Qualifications from the 14-19 Diploma in England can now be taken as options within the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification (WBQ). They provide a great opportunity to learn more about each industry and its related sector. The difference from other qualifications is the emphasis on practical and work-related learning activities, experiencing different styles of learning in different environments.

The Principal Learning Qualification in Hair and Beauty Studies (HBS) is a new and exciting work-focused qualification that has been designed to support young people taking early steps to explore the hair and beauty sector with a view to career choice, a general interest in the sector, work-related training and/or further and higher education. The qualification is accessible at three different levels (Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced) and is designed to meet the needs of young people according to their age, ability and interests.

The hair and beauty sector covers six industries:
Each of these industries is represented within the Hair and Beauty Studies Principal Learning Qualification, together with science, marketing, business and management skills, thus providing a broad knowledge-based qualification where you can carry out selected practical skills within each of the industries. You'll result in being a more rounded individual, with transferable skills, who has a clearer idea of their career options and progression routes, whether you enter the hair and beauty sector, or not.

Y Cymhwyster Prif Ddysgu mewn Astudiaethau Gwallt a Harddwch

Erbyn hyn gellir dewis Cymwysterau Prif Ddysgu o Ddiploma 14-19 yn Lloegr fel opsiynau o fewn Cymhwyster Bagloriaeth Cymru (CBC). Maen nhw'n cynnig cyfle gwych i ddysgu mwy am bob diwydiant a'i sector cysylltiedig. Y gwahaniaeth rhwng y rhain a'r cymwysterau eraill yw'r pwyslais ar weithgareddau dysgu ymarferol a chysylltiedig a gwaith, a'r cyfle i brofi gwahanol ddulliau o ddysgu mewn gwahanol amgylcheddau.

Mae'r Cymhwyster Prif Ddysgu mewn Astudiaethau Gwallt a Harddwch yn gymhwyster newydd a chyffrous sy'n canolbwyntio ar waith. Mae wedi'i gynllunio i gynorthwyo pobl ifanc sy'n cymryd camau cynnar i archwilio'r sector gwallt a harddwch oherwydd eu bod nhw'n bwriadu dewis gyrfa yn y maes, neu fod gyda nhw diddordeb cyffredinol yn y sector, mewn hyfforddiant sy'n gysylltiedig a gwaith, a/neu mewn addysg bellach ac uwch. Mae'r cymhwyster ar gael ar dair gwahanol lefel (Sylfaen, Canolradd ac Uwch) ac mae wedi'i gynllunio i fodloni anghenion pobl ifanc yn unol a'u hoedran, eu gallu a'u diddordebau.

Mae'r sector gwallt a harddwch yn cynnwys chwe diwydiant:

• rin gwallt/gwaith barbwr Affricanaidd Caribïaidd
• therapi sba

Cynrychiolir pob un o'r diwydiannau hyn yn y Cymhwyster Prif Ddysgu mewn Astudiaethau Gwallt a Harddwch, yn ogystal a gwyddoniaeth, marchnata, a sgiliau busnes a rheoli. O ganlyniad, ceir cymhwyster sy'n seiliedig ar wybodaeth eang ac sy'n eich galluogi i roi detholiad o sgiliau ymarferol ar waith ym mhob un o'r diwydiannau. O ganlyniad, byddwch chi'n unigolyn mwy cyflawn sydd a sgiliau trosglwyddadwy a syniad mwy pendant o'ch dewisiadau gyrfa a'ch llwybrau datblygu, p'un a ydych chi'n penderfynu mynd i'r sector gwallt a harddwch ai peidio.
